99 voyager a/c problems

Hi i just replaced the compressor on my 99 grand voyager ( 155000 miles) 3.0 L as i was chareging it i heard a big noise like something was blowing out somewher it only last a few sec and i have no cold air??? i was wounder if anyone can help me out the clutch engages the low pressure hose is too hot to touch ... im guessing it sounds like over pressuring but i only put one can of ref in then it started with the noise... im a shade tree mechanic lol im just stumped please help and dont have the money to take it to a shop thank you for all your help

Sounds like you blew one of your lines or the pressure got too high and it got "relieved".

Are you sure you hooked up the charging can to the low side and not the high side?

thank you for your reply!!!!!!!!!yes i did connect it correctly the hose only connects to the low side also i went out today and took out the compressor to drain it cause i added about 1 oz of oil and i didnt have to i guess.. no oil came out of the compressor and put it all back together and noticed the high side port test connector is leaking from the o ring im a home mechanic and ive never had a problem like this thats why im asking

did you fans turn on?? You may have a restriction in your system. It's hard to diagnose it w/o knowing what your pressures are...

Just a side note-- a 99 chrysler product is a prime canidate for an evaporator leak-- seen a bunch of them..
