Tahoe A/C compressor question
I purchased a new aftermarket A/C compressor for my 98 Tahoe.. It looks drop in with the exception of the OEM version had an extra 2 pin connector on the back of the compressor.. This looks to be built into the unit ..
My question is can I run the new one without this ?? I called the supplier and he said he sells 200 a month of that unit with no problems. Suggestions ? |

Re: Tahoe A/C compressor question
That extra plug is a pressure switch, it needs to be swapped over. It's held in place with a spring retainer.

Re: Tahoe A/C compressor question
That plug fits into the HPCO high pressure cut-out switch- which is normally closed and opens at 425 psi- so it must be jumpered or mounted to run the compressor.

what you must get is the same compressor type so that the high pressure cutout switch can be mounted. on my 2000 silverado this is not on the compressor but at the condensor near the orifice tube. you must have the wrong compressor. as mentioned it should be installed on the back of your new compressor with the C clip lock . I would not use that new compressor. |
