2002 Nismo R34 GT-R Z-Tune "PS2 Gran Turismo version"

Kit: Tamiya 24282
Body paint: Rust Oleum rattle can paints: primer, white, red, black, clear laquer.
Other paints: Tamiya and Humbrol clear enamel, Uniball UM100 gel markers, Tamiya Acrylics
Decals: Tamiya kit, Hobby Design metal logos, Hobby Design "Nissan R34 PS2 Gran Turismo" HD04-0058 (applied after the clear and polish stage)
Scratch pieces: seatbelt buckles, carpets
Project date: a month on first quarter 2012

Kit review: Best model kit I have ever built so far. Every little thing fits flawlesly, detail is excellent, ride height from the box is what you see in pictures. If you donīt do anything stupid the kit will come out just perfect. Only complain is that front edge of the hood comes with a sprue holder pin in a very tricky and exposed spot. But if you work slowly and pay attention to the shape of it, the rest of the model will build in a blink.

!!!! Decals review !!!! Hobby Design have done a flawless job here too!!!! I will only tell you that those big silver "GT logo+stripe" for the sides come in one piece. I split that part in two just to be cautious. Anyway, that part has to copy a lot of shapes, including window edges and last roof pillars (see pic #13). Well, it comes so well designed that you just have to slide it in position, no cuts, no trimming, just wait and add some microsol until it adapts to the door handle. 10 points for Hobby Design on this one.

Built this kit OOB, just added what is specified above. Any mistake you see was my fault. Might retouch paint here and there some time.

Thx for watching and comments.

Been loving looking at these kits you've uploaded, that Skyline is gorgeous, definitely gonna have to make it! I had no idea there was decals for it.
Keep it up!

Re: 2002 Nismo R34 GT-R Z-Tune "PS2 Gran Turismo version"

Thx for the comments guys!
True story about these decals is that I didnīt want to go for a "Z-Tune silver". As I was googleing I found out this version (havenīt got so far yet with GT4) and fell in love. So a friend and I collected every graphic, vectors and stuff, and started to prepare to print decals. As soon as we got every image ready, but not printed, Hobby Design released the decal sheet. It was a wise decision to purchase that decal set, because printing and applying would have really been a pita.

Thx to all!
@autodecepticon: there's also a decal kit for the tanabe version of a nismo tune. Check It out, as you already have two Kits. I'dhave purchased a second one if It wasnt that there is a long list of other Kits I want to build...
