Bad fuel injectors?

I have a 1990 chevy celebrity wagon eurosport 3.1 and have some issues! What I know of this car is it's been sitting for 6+ months before I bought it, the owner said two cylinders are firing together and when you break the car shuts off, you have to drop it in neutral to restart. When you start the car it runs real high, but once it warms up it starts running rough and low, and when you apply the brakes it shuts off. I was told it's the fuel injectors. If that's the case, how do you replace them in this car? I'd rather take the time to do it myself than pay a bunch.

Re: Bad fuel injectors?

Once you figure out the removal, take your injectors to a local diesel shop for a
micro bath cleaning, blow out, new seals, and flow rate tested.

Re: Bad fuel injectors?

First, 6months isn't that long. Have YOU verified it's only hitting on 2 cylinders. Sounds more like you have a major vacuum leak. Check all your vacuum hoses, especially the brake booster.

Re: Bad fuel injectors?

This is a multiport engine, so one bad injector can make you lose 3 of them.....

Is this a 3 speed automatic? Could be a TCC probem also.....

Sounds like you bought someone else's 6 month problem.....
