Re: 70 mustang 351 cleaveland what to do on a budget

That sounds like a good combo. The wieand is a good intake for the 2bbls. The only upgrades I would recommend without power adders or new heads is a slightly bigger cam. That carb should do fine, you might look into getting a 650VS for the street. It'd give you better gas mileage. 12.40s are pretty darn good for a street car. Maybe a 150 shot of nitrous would give you the extra oomph you need? After that I'd say some stuffed 4v heads with a funnelweb, or an epoxied torker if you don't have the $$ for the funnel. What kind of exhaust do you have after the headers? 2.5" dual with an H pipe is what I recommend.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. All of us with vintage muscle should sell our cars to replace them with VTEC Civics or something.
My vote would be for new heads.

Agreed. You've just about hit the limit of 2 barrel OC heads, without getting into forced induction. The next step is either 4bbl closed chamber heads or aftermarket aluminum heads. You have 2 good choices here, either CHI or AFD. Both are great heads, which you get depends on your goals. They're both around $1500 bare.
