I would say a cam, headers, intake, carb, and igniton system. You would have some money left over and then could look at rearend and suspension. It's up to you.

Do you have electric water poump and radiator fan? Or you could get roller rocker arms and lifters. There are also power pulleis. Have you ran a 1/4 mile just courious on how fast you are running.

Check here....

http://www.network54.com/Forum/119419

This forum is exclusively for Cleveland engines. The guys are very nice and helpful.

If you already have the mods like headers, cam, intake, carb, ignition, maybe you need to go more radical.

Put in a solid cam, roller rockers, some head porting, a low-rise single plane intake, some steeper gears in the rear-end.

And, most of all, if you have an automatic, a ~2800-3000 rpm stall converter.

You should get at least ~350 hp out of a well-built 351 Cleveland 2V, and AT LEAST 400 hp out of a decent Cleveland 4V.

The cleveland engines have by far the highest potential of any OEM small block engine offered by Ford.

Good Luck

Aluminum heads are nice, but pricey. Stock cleveland heads are very good to begin with, you should be able to get 350-550hp out of any cleveland without forced induction or aluminum heads.
I'm a regular on the 335 Cleveland forum as posted by FearsomeFairmont. Nice seein you here!
What exactly do you have on the motor right now? Many intakes are pretty bad, so just having an aftermarket intake doesn't mean squat. Clevelands are very picky about their cams as well. What do you have for a carb? 4v or 2v heads? What size headers? Exhaust?

Re: Re: Re: 70 mustang 351 cleaveland what to do on a budget

Looks pretty good. What 750 holley is that? double pumper or VS? What heads do you have, 2v or 4v, open chamber or closed chamber?
My recommendation would be if you don't already have 4v closed chamber heads, is to get them. Then ditch the weiand intake and get either a funnelweb with stuffers or a Strip dominator(NOT street dominator!). A bit bigger of a cam and you should be in the 11s. If its a 750VS, get a DP, at least for the track. They're cheap. If you want to change cams, your best bet is to get it through MME(http://www.mmeracing.com/). He's very knowledgeable about clevelands.

Thanks u are helping so much. My carb. is a double pumper and i am not going to go with a bigger cam because im only 16 and my car has to be driven on the street every day and im already geting 8 MPG but im from kansas so the gas prices are not to bad but bad enough. my dad and i went to look at tire for my 16 birthday and we found a pair of
295/50/R15 they would look so cool on my mustang.

P.S thanks again for the help and my heads are 2v
