Starting issue after gas fill up
05 Sonata with a 6 cyl.
A couple of months ago the car would die at red lights but would start right back up and you were on your way. Now for the last 4 or 5 times I've filled the gas tank, the car will not start directly there after to leave the gas station. It takes 3 or 4 times of trying to start before it starts running and I can leave. Then the car runs fine until the next fill up. Is this a gas cap issue? ![]() Thanks in advance for any replies! |

Re: Starting issue after gas fill up
I thought I might find an answer to the same exact problem I have with my '05 Sonata 2.7L V6.
Apparently I was wrong. I'll keep looking and see if I can find some answers. Good luck. |

Re: Starting issue after gas fill up
Found out it was the PURGE CONTROL VALVE located in the engine compartment right behind the intake manifold. Just look right behind the center of the engine and the firewall it is right there, tucked right behind the intake!
SOLVED the problem....... Found the part at WWW.ROCKAUTO.COM for $22 delivered to my door.

Re: Starting issue after gas fill up
The dealer should have a service bulletin on the problem and it may as simple as resetting of the computer.

Re: Starting issue after gas fill up
check for a plugged evap filter. this filter is usually located on the gas filler pipe, bolted to the side of pipe not in it. it's suppose to be serviced every 30k if in dusty conditions.
