For that budget I would suggest a new Nissan Altima or Maxima, but if you dont care about budget then a 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG! Love it!

ME? ... I would get an old car, build it up - put a racing cam on it etc. But from what you are saying... you get a lot of bang for your buck with the new ford mustangs. and you can build from there.
