Hi Everyone,
I just replaced the break switch, and another switch above the break switch (PN:12450039) found in the brake pedal area, then after putting everything back together, the driver's seat switch has no power. ![]() I went to the DIC (Driver Information Center) and noticed the memory seat selection is not working either. All other modes of the DIC are working. Passenger seat has power and fuses/circuit breakers appear to be fine. Could any either of these two switches have anything to do with the driver's seat? If I'm going to have to remove the driver's seat, can someone tell me how to do that, or provide a link that demonstrates that process? Thank you for the help. ![]() Prof H |

Re: 97 PA 3800 K Driver's Seat Issue
The lower switch is for stoplight/cruise and the other switch is for TCC/ABS I believe. The other switch has to be set at something like 1/16" of an inch to the barrel, not plunger. I don't see how that relates to the driver seat though.

Re: 97 PA 3800 K Driver's Seat Issue
Spent 3hrs working on looking at wires under the seat and removed the fwd/reverse seat motor. Then used a cable to turn the gear on each side to move the seat fwd about 3 inches. It took a while but I was able to move the seat fwd manually. I did find a 25A fuse, #7 slot, in the fuse center under the back seat. My manual only says that fuse is to SBM (I think). What is that? Also, I didn't find any frayed or broken wires. I also couldn't get the seat module removed. I ran out of time and my arms were cramping from the awkward position I had to be in to manually adjust the seat. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 97 PA 3800 K Driver's Seat Issue
You can check the seat itself, with a test light/hotwire, but the coincidence of it not running just after replacing some electrical items nearby is unlikely. I would go through the fuses etc in the rear seat fusebox section. Some hints for fuse meanings...
SBM- interior lamps HUD- head up display switch CSTR/SBM- instrument panel cluster, LP PKL & LP PK R for park, side marker, turn lamp, stop lamp If you don't know what a specific fuse is for, check it anyway with test light. Check them all to be on safe side. See if you find any blown fuse etc.

Re: 97 PA 3800 K Driver's Seat Issue
I had a similar problem..
I'm not sure of the 97' but the 94' seat heat switch is right there where you were climbing / resting on the outside bottom switch area of the seat. Mine shorted out to the frame when a "big boy" sat in it. A bit of bugging and rework and it solved the problem. I think it was too old or damaged or risky to let it still power so I pigtailed off the heat part and replaced the fuse. Hope this helps.
