2005 Nissan Altima with high mileage
Long story short, I am looking for a reliable but inexpensive car for my daughter. My local mechanic has a 2005 Nissan Altima that looks and runs like a new vehicle. Perfectly clean in and out and everything works. The scary downside is that it has 189,000 miles! I know nothing about Nissan vehicles so I'm looking for comments and advice.

Re: 2005 Nissan Altima with high mileage
if the price is right, take it.........new to the nissans altima though. mines an 05 and i love it....mine has 125,000..and runs like a champ...people have told me they have some oil leaks and lifter problems...like a fast tickin noise, like your low on oil but ur not.but no probs with mine so far..but 180,000 miles thats gettin up there....check all the routine things...its past time for things to start goin wrong..but if ya can get it cheap,cheap..might be worth it....it doesnt look that bad..might be a good for now kinda car....

Re: 2005 Nissan Altima with high mileage
I have an '05 Altima too. Love it! After 130,000 the only issue we've had was the catalytic converter had to be replaced (cost us over 1200) but other than that it has been great, and I love how big it is. The red one you're looking at looks great. If you can get it for 4 or $5000 then I say do it!
