95 V6 - PCM/ECU w or wo firm feel suspension

Probably have to change the PCM/ECU/ECM.

Two versions to choose between. With or without firm feel suspension aka speed sensitive steering.

How can i figure out whats right for my car?

Thanks in advance for any help!

JEG67, does your car have the sticker with all the option codes on it ? I take it you don't have the window sticker?

No option sticker seen. Where on the car is it supposed to be? No window sticker. Som VIN decoders show options, but not for the 95 as far as I have tried.

Jeg, it varies by the make and car, the usual places are in the glovebox, in the trunk on the cover over the spare, Iv'e even seen it under the hood and inside the gas cap door. Why do you have to change the computer? I like those cars they seem to run forever. Good luck.

Re: 95 V6 - PCM/ECU w or wo firm feel suspension

I'll look around for stickers. Main problem is well known in other threads.

Car can be hard to start in rainy weather, short loss of power when driving in wet conditions and last week the car wouldn't start after two days parked outdoors in heavy rain. Starter turns willingly but no start. Tried again after two days when the weather was dry and the car startet at first try.

The car is well maintained and starts and runs wo problems exept this sensivity to rain and wet conditions.

Change of PCM has fixed these things in some cars. Others have changed the distributor and fixed it by that.

Could be the distributor cap. Since the distributor is even more exposed to water I guess the problem would be there all the time if water had access the distributor. I've got service manual with all wiring diagrams but is not able to read them...

Anyway i opened the two connectors on top of the PCM. Clean and dry conditions. Sprayed the connectors with vaseline for electronic purposes.

So far so good...

JEG67, I've ran into this problem at work on other make of vehicles, to recreate the problem I took a spray bottle and thoroughly wet each component separately one at a time with the water until I found the culprit. Worked well for me at the time. Good luck.
