Re: 95 Roadmaster pulley noise

That's the power steering pump. You can use a puller designed for some of the CS series alternators an PS pumps to remove that sheave.

Is the sheave damaged? Wobbling? Noisy?

Bowtie, It sure does'nt look like a power steering pulley, just a idler with no spring or adjustment. The pulley is also smooth on it's drive edge. Check a belt diagram for this vehicle, 95 Roadmaster V8. The top pulley is the alternator, below it is the pulley in question. Below that is the AC compressor pulley. ALL the auto parts stores show it on their belt diagrams but have no information on that pulley. They suggest a "dealer item". This does not help. The Haynes manual for that vehicle does'nt even show it. I can find and replace the bearing once I get it off, but figuring that out is the question.
The sheave is in good shape but the bearing is squalling bad and about to go out. The pulley's hub has recesses for a puller. It also appears there are 4-5 bolts behind, and outside of the pulley's diameter. Like it might come off as one unit.
If this is power steering pulley I appologies Bowtie. I just have to spend more time with it. And with no info in the manual any help is very much needed.

Thanks Again...

GT
