1994 Ford Probe Timing Belt Concerns

Just purchased a 94 ford probe, 137,000 mi., 2 dr with trunk, not the HB & has the sunroof. Paid 600 for it. I have been reading reviews, etc. and it seems the timing belt can cause bad valve problems or warp them if it goes. Should I go ahead and have this replaced or have the timing checked just to make sure. I just had the water pump replaced and a new serpentine belt replaced as well.

should've replaced timing belt along with water pump and if you don't replace it i would atleast have a look at belt to see if any cuts or cracks in it.

Thanks for your help Scrapper, They did all the belts, timing, etc. at once. I should have it this weekend.
