timing belt concerns

I am preparing to change the timing belt on my 93 Sol. I have called all of my local parts dealers, as well as the Honda dealership. All the parts stores are ranging from $28 - $40, where the Honda dealership is $54. My questions are these: Are all timing belts essentially the same, or would I be better off spending the extra money and getting the one from Honda? Is the one I would get from Honda an aftermarket brand that I could be getting from my local parts store cheaper, or is it a genuine Honda part that cannot be sold anywhere else?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Re: timing belt concerns

I would most definatley go with the Honda one. I believe Gates makes some of our T-belts, but not all of them. You do not want to take any chances when messing with a belt as critical as this one. Plus, you know its gona work. What if you get it all apart, omly to find that the autozone belt isn't the correct one? Piece of mind is priceless in my opinion.

Re: timing belt concerns

I'd get the Honda belt. I completely concur with Privatebigandrew. Or spend a LOT more and get the Toda belt.
