McLaren CanAm - Bruce McLaren #4

Have just buttoned this one up. Kit was sourced online at http://www.hlj.com as my city in Japan is hobby shop-less.

Kit went together as any great Tamiya does. Body had some larger issues conforming to the chassis although this was the only major thing despite the kit's tooling being 30ish years old.

Colour was sprayed direct from TS-34 Rattlecan and went on nicely. Heated in hot water to help the paint flow smoothly. Decals are great. I was worried about the orange showing through the white but no worries on any of that. Superb quality from Cartograf.

Any comments and critiques more than welcome!

Now there's a classic. When I saw them race they never looked quite that clean. Yours looks fresh out of the showroom.

Is that Palmerston North, Auckland?

Beautiful. This car raced in 1968. I was lucky enough to see the 1969 M8B's race at Watkins Glen when I was a kid.
