Vw Golf Mk3 Vr6

I used the few sunlight coming between 2 snow clouds to take some pictures. They are not perfect as my digicam becomes old but they are good as is. I'll really need to buy a new one for Xmas

To resume, not by best realisation. I had to rush at the end and clearcoated it by low temperature, so I got some orange peel and had no time to compound/polish it. It had to be ready for an exhibition. There are also lots of flaws like the gap between the rear lights and body (only noticed at the end), the bad fitting of the hood because of front lights, the window trim I completely missed, ...

Despite all this, I added a few details outside like the turned aluminium exhaust tips (turned on the Dremel), PE grill for the front bumper, PE wipers, hood's hook, ...

Finally, after 8 years of waiting, it's done. Then the plate: 8Y 2 W8T

Don't hesitate to comment!

I love it, the engine bay is a Bitch to detail and make look good on these. Although you made it look great. Thanks for sharing and bringing this build back.

Re: Vw Golf Mk3 Vr6

Ok so let's say a few words of mine as I've been foloowing the WIP and never posted in it.
Well, I appreciate all the work done, some details like the door inside, I like the wheels also... not the carbon dashboard though...
but I must say that mainly I don't like the massive look of the body kit done on it, don't know if it comes from the color (maybe), and it's probably your expectation on this build, but everything looks (too?) thick to me...
this could be a crossed car on belgian or french roads and seems completely realistic and is well done for that, but it's not my personal tuning taste.
too much tuning spirit and not enough sport spirit to me !

Re: Vw Golf Mk3 Vr6

Thanks both for your comments

I don't get discouraged but it's true that, in the past, members were commenting more. Positively or negatively, that's not the point, but people were more likely to give their opinion.

Rallymaster, I appreciate your comment. It can't please everyone and I understand that. I tried lots of things and maybe went too far in modifications but like Tonioseven says 'I built it for myself'.
The bodykit may look massive but remember that the main transformation were done 8 years ago. They were more 'fashion' or 'à la mode' at that time

I agree, and moreover tuning or car improvement, including or even perhaps mostly on scale models, is mainly a personal taste question. Nobody would build a same car the same way, same color, same material etc... that's what bring us emotion and feelings about the models, isn't it ?
What I feel isn't inevitably the truth or the truth for the people biggest part but the reflect of what I feel facing the car with my personal tastes, as for everyone I suppose...
And anyway one can't share anything else than a personal opinion when there's nothing to say about work and skills themselves !!
