First Time Buyer of Automotives...
Hi everyone, I'm hoping that you guys could help me out with the whole "buying a used car" thing. Here's the skinny on my situation:
I'm currently an active duty soldier (a Specialist) who is 21 and has just returned from a deployment. I recently got my license and am now looking into buying my first vehicle. The kind of car I want...I'm not so sure. I want a reliable car that will last me at least 6 or more years, but I don't know which models/makes are best to start with. I hope you guys can help me out here... I have no idea where to begin. ![]() Very Respectfully, M. G. |

Re: First Time Buyer of Automotives...
Welcome aboard! And firstly, thank you for your service!
First, What is your pricepoint? That will be the biggest determining factor. Second, keep in mind that you will have maintenance costs, insurance costs, and all of that needs to be part of your mental "budget". Third, I would start by looking at the big 3 Japanese companies: Honda, Toyota & Nissan. All have a pretty solid record in terms of longevity & reliability. But the models you look at within each of those will again depend on price you can afford. Hope this helps give you some direction! Keep us posted as your search continues.
