Cleaning idle air-control valve?

In quote I was told to "Your problem is that you have a DIRTY idle air control valve which can easily be broght back to life with a can of GUM-OUT spray. Best to run SeaFoam or AMSOIL FOAMING CLEANER through this, and your PCV valve and hoses"... Okay first of all, do modern day cars even have idle aircontrol valves? Or just cars with carburetors? I was told by someone I needed to clean my idle air-control valve on my 2002 Honda Civic, (it has a 2005 VTEC in it). If my car even has an "idle air control valve", how would I locate it, how would I clean it, and what would I use to clean it? Also, what is it that I am suppose to do with that SeaFoam stuff? Please help me if you can!

Re: Cleaning idle air-control valve?

Search You Tube for "Eric the car guy". He has a video on this topic.
There is also a thread in Accord section. If I find it I will post it here.

Good luck,
Sam

Re: Cleaning idle air-control valve?

I cannot answer your question about 2002 Accord, but if you have IAC valve there, here is a thread on how to clean it:

I hope this helps,
