2002 V6 cleaning the Idle Air Control Valve
I don't see this subject in the FAQ but I know it comes up from time to time. It appears that it is easy enough to remove but what about the process itself. What sort of cleaner should be used? Should I plan on replacing the gasket? Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

I didn't read far enough this AM before I posted. Most of my questions are answered below except the one about the gasket (and I assume that there is a gasket).

Re: 2002 V6 cleaning the Idle Air Control Valve
Try a search. There is no idle air control valve on 2000+ 3.2/3.5's.

Re: 2002 V6 cleaning the Idle Air Control Valve
My bad, all the activity has been with the 2002 lately but this is the '95 V6. Removed the valve and cleaned it with some Valvoline TB cleaner. works fine. Wish the problems with the '02 could be as easily solved. the '95 has 180K on it and there has never been a CEL, which has become a regular occurrence with the '02.
