Re: Cracked Dash In 2001 2500 Truck
After reading the dash cracking problems before I got Cornbread Red, whose dash was uncracked, I bought a windshield inside shade.
I use it everyday day the sun is out and leave the windows cracked 2 to 3 inches to let heat out. At home, the truck is under the carport. Since 2004, the dash is fine. In a related question, which is better, a $695 cheapo carport or a paint job?

Re: Cracked Dash In 2001 2500 Truck
Just put a cover on my dash this weekend. Probably an hour and a half between prep work and actual install. Looks great and truck is far quieter now (NICE!). I broke out most of the remaining dash out to the edges where you apply the silicone adhesive. Got the cover from an ebay seller for $140 total and it arrived in three days.
