I bought a car with problems.. what are my options?
I bought a 2007 Suzuki Forenza in June of this year. In July I had to get an alignment, in August I had to get the cruise control repaired, in September I had to replace the power steering pump, and at the beginning of this month I just forked out $761 to replace the a/c compressor and dryer. All of this on top of my $320/month car loan payment. My check engine light just came on AGAIN today after I got an oil change, and the technician said I need new tires BAD. Before I spend $400+ on new tires, I would like to know what my options are regarding getting another vehicle all together. Would I be "upside down"? What exactly is that.. and what do you recommend personally? Thank you so much for answering! I am having my first child in December and saving money with all of these repairs is getting very tough.

Re: I bought a car with problems.. what are my options?
Man...for a car that is only 4 years old that is definitely not good. How many miles are on it? Upside down is when you owe more on your car than what it is currently worth. For instance, let's say you were to trade that vehicle in ,and you could get 5000 dollars, but your pay off balance for your loan is 7000 dollars, then you would be upside down. I can almost guarantee, if you just bought the car, you are way upside down. That means you would have to get a way cheaper car in order to have the same payment. Did you make sure that some of the items you fixed weren't under warranty or that there weren't any recalls? If not, you should. I think you may have to stick with the car, unless you find an inexpensive jem. Good luck. I feel for you.
