91 f350 rims on 95 suburban?

Wasn't sure where to post this, hope its fine here.

A friend wants to sell me his Suburban, but the tires are junk. I barely have the money for the truck alone, and definitely not for 4 tires. However, I have a '91 F350 available to me that has close to new BFGs on it. I don't know much about the suburban other than it has 8 lugs, same as the f350. Are the wheels interchangeable?

In theory yes, they should have the same bolt pattern, but the center hole is apparently a different size between the chev and ford.

If the Tires are the same size, why not have a tire shop swap them over for you?

The tires are not the same size. 16.5s on the f350 and the tires on the Suburban say "do not mount on 16.5 rims." I test drove the truck and the CV joints sounded wasted. New CVs are 150 a piece, so not too bad, but I'm scared that if the CVs are wasted, so are other things. The transfer case made some nasty grinding, and I could not tell if 4x4 was engaging, so I won't be buying it.

Nothing worse than buying someone else's worn out beater.

Why not drive the F350 instead?
