91 f350 rims on 95 suburban?
Wasn't sure where to post this, hope its fine here.
A friend wants to sell me his Suburban, but the tires are junk. I barely have the money for the truck alone, and definitely not for 4 tires. However, I have a '91 F350 available to me that has close to new BFGs on it. I don't know much about the suburban other than it has 8 lugs, same as the f350. Are the wheels interchangeable? |

In theory yes, they should have the same bolt pattern, but the center hole is apparently a different size between the chev and ford. If the Tires are the same size, why not have a tire shop swap them over for you?

Re: 91 f350 rims on 95 suburban?
The tires are not the same size. 16.5s on the f350 and the tires on the Suburban say "do not mount on 16.5 rims." I test drove the truck and the CV joints sounded wasted. New CVs are 150 a piece, so not too bad, but I'm scared that if the CVs are wasted, so are other things. The transfer case made some nasty grinding, and I could not tell if 4x4 was engaging, so I won't be buying it.

Nothing worse than buying someone else's worn out beater. Why not drive the F350 instead?
