Garrett or 16g turbo

Hey im kinda new to engines. my eclipse has a 420a motor with a garrett t3/t4 50 trim turbo. My friend gave me a 16g turbo that hes not using. So any suggestions if i should keep the garrett or switch to the 16g would be awesome

The 16g is will have a Mitsu flange on it. There are no Mitshu-style flanges for the 420a unless you make a custom adapter. It's possible, but generally not worth it.

Re: Garrett or 16g turbo

Yea not going to bolt on. Which is unfortunate because the 50 trim is a bigger turbo. So lag will be more on it then the 16g and since I got a feeling you're not boosting it too high I'm sure the 16g would be able to flow the amount of air you're wanting.

Re: Garrett or 16g turbo

It would be easier to go with a smaller t3/t4 turbo that will bolt right up. The 50 trim is fine as long as you dont mind the lag
