2002 envoy transmission problem

2002 envoy just hit 200000 miles changed trans at 140000 miles now all gears are working perfect but overdrive when it kicks in it starts jumping and jerking in and out no slipping just kicking in and out does that mean the torc is bad thanks for any help.

Question,,,is it falling out of overdrive,,,or is the converter un-locking ????
the valve body has issues with valves side loading,,,causing converter lock problems...normal rebuilding ,,the valves are not addressed due to the extra cost...May want to talk to a trans shop,,,repairs can be done without trans removal

Or it is a misfire that can mock that condition.

i think its the converter unlocking i drove it to the trans shop and it done real good and the trans man drove it and when we hit a hill it done it 1 time and he said that was the converter and said what he would do is change the fluid and put some kind of limited slip stuff in and ride it.would bad trans fluid cause this trouble.or is the damage already done.would new fluid be a waste of money.

if the oil does not look bad,,,will be a waste of your money,,,,if option of a valve body problem was not even discussed ,,,,,scanned for codes,,,look at live data,,,that is not the shop you want to deal with !!!!!! If converter is in trouble,,,usually should see a slip code and trip check engine light...just my rants!!!

Not rants, good info, problem is when it comes to a proper diagnosis for driveability conditions seems like it doesn't get done.

ok thanks man i will keep driving and see if the check engine light will come on and be looking for a good trans shop on the way.
