CKP sensor help

Crankshaft position sensor. Codes p0339 and p0341 and p1336... Ok I checked the sensor voltage on the thing like the haynes book said and it told me I should be getting around 5.0 volts on the signal wire and I'm getting 1.8 to 2.4 at idle so i pulled the sftermarket autozone sensor out and it shows signs of light rubbing on the reluctor wheel. Does anyone know about these sensors. The truck idles rough with some backfires.

Year make and model and engine?

On some years makes and models and engine there is a TSB on shiming sensor if it is rubbing on end.

Try shiming it up to where it does not rub.

Repair the rubbing problem.
Check wiring and plug in real close to.
Make sure it is the right OEM type sensor.
My repair manual doed not show tsb for that year make and modle and engine.
Biut.
Check with dealer on TSB and shims for it.

Some can be shimed or in real bad cases the timing cover has to be replaced.

Get it where it does not rub and then clear codes annd watch for any coming back.

P0339=CKP (Crank) intermittent circuit. Follow MT's advice.

P0341=CMP (cam) sensor performance. Usually caused by electromagnetic interference. Check CMP wiring harness for proper routing.

P1336=CKP System Variation not Learned. Any time a CKP is replaced this procedure needs to be done. It requires a high end scan tool in the hands of a competent technician.
