Re: Porsche 911 gt1 Le Mans

I sincerely like your work and believe that you are a talented beginner. Regardless of achieving perfect results and complete fidelity, the most important thing in the hobby is the fun you can get. Your model choice was very good and your skills will only increase with time. Be sure to always show your progress with pride.

Re: Porsche 911 gt1 Le Mans

Started on the same kit when I was about your age. Must say this is quite good compared to mine back then.. :P
I recycled the car up for a conversion now so I can't show you I badly I did.
In the progress of building a kit it is important to keep dry fitting the parts so the body sits better next time. You'll get a feeling for it after a few kits.
You have a better feeling with the decals compared to when I started (I still hate them)

I like your
You might want to go light on the black paint next time on the under body part. Maybe that is why the upper body doesn't go down as much as it should. Not sure from the picture if you brushed it or sprayed it. If brushed on you might want to consider spray paints or an airbrush (the latter only if you really enjoy the hobby and want to keep at it) And with the spray cans shake well and try at least a 30cm space between the parts and the can. So you'll get a lighter coat on it. Spaycans can sometimes give a blub of paint when you actually want a lighter coat and this can be done with multiple layers (it takes some patience!) It is all about learning with every built.
I like your early attempt on the porsche 911 GT1!!

Indeed, the hobby seems to be dying a bit with fewer younger ones starting the hobby.

Every new and young enthusiast should be welcomed!!!!!!

Re: Porsche 911 gt1 Le Mans

I thought for a model like that to start with as a beginner project, looks pretty good to me, okay I can see some small problems, but if you can get the decals to look good on this model then I look forward to seeing what else your going to build.

I remember my models I built when I was 15, nowhere near as good as this result.

Good start, keep on building.

Re: Porsche 911 gt1 Le Mans

Very good work for your age my friend, just be patient and pace yourself when building models, I know it's hard to do at that age but time will teach you a lot. Don't be discouraged, I am sure the comment was not meant to put you down but to make you better. Good luck and keep building, I promise you you will be a great builder in the future if you stick with it!!!
