Re: Porsche 911 gt1 Le Mans
I'll agree but this wouldn't be the best way to support, motivate and encourage one young modeller. At least this is my supposition: a young modeler on one of his first models: not the easiest one BTW at least for the livery, where he didn't done bad. Interiors are not accurate in much points: I agree, but to judge and start to share advices we need to know more: techniques used, age, models done, tools used to finish (brush, airbrush, cans..).
I think if he want to start to improove this is the right place and this one would be a start point, but he must sare more infos

Re: Porsche 911 gt1 Le Mans
what exactly is inaccurate? i wouldnt be able to tell a difference... i rarely build models that are true to factory specs unless it is a copy of my personal supra. if you look at any ferrari or audi, or opel i have built they do not have any of the factory coloring on most peices.. thats the whole fun in building these projects... its yours, its nice to have a replica of a factory made car, sure, but not every single one you do.
i think it looks great, the decals look like a pain |

Re: Porsche 911 gt1 Le Mans
Guys, something is maybe lost in translation. This model is as accurate, as Tamiya kit can be. So I think that Sebastian meant that this car is built badly and not careful. What has happen to the rear part, it doesn't fit the chassis?

Do not be discouraged. Modeling requires practice and your next model will always be better.

Re: Porsche 911 gt1 Le Mans
Nicky - welcome to the site. I give you a lot of credit for putting your work out there for us to see even if it isn’t perfect. I would not be able to produce this level model when I was 15.
Please continue to post your work and use other people's models to help yourself improve. I think the most important thing to keep on mind is that each time you post something you should be able to indentify something new that you learned and then applied to the kit. Also, please keep in mind that sometimes people comment with the best of intentions and what they mean to say gets lost in translation, just as Scrible said. The way that you would say something in Italian will certainly be different than how we say things in the states, and how Sebastian would say the same thing in Russia. Bottom line is this: don’t be discouraged, keep building! With all that being said, the one piece of advice I would give you is to provide us some more information about the kit when you post the pictures. Tell us what type of paints you used, if it is box stock or if there are aftermarket parts, if you were able to use any new skills, if you used an airbrush or spray cans or brush paints. Also, maybe give us some type of brief overview of your experience with the kit. Did it go together easily or was the fit of the parts poor, and so on… Hope this helps, Stuart |

Re: Porsche 911 gt1 Le Mans
hello all again.
I'm a beginner in modeling and i'm trying to improve my skills checking and learning this site. some times i want to show you my models in order to get good and nice comments and improve them. but with this kind of comment, it is better for me to keep my models just for me. it is nice of you to try to hide the comment by saying is "lost in traslation", but in my personal opinion even if your mother lenguage is not english, you need to take care of what you are writing. this is a hobby right? it suposed to be fun. it is not better to encourage a novate modeler? whay you don't explain what do you think is wrong and give him a clue to improve? when you start in this hobby, never have a mistake? all your models are perfect? sorry for this my friends, but if you are frustated, why the other peoples needs to be frustated also? i'm not a trouble maker but, believe me, but is hard not to say something when i read this awfull comments regards |

Re: Porsche 911 gt1 Le Mans
For only being only 15 you did an excellent job on on a somewhat difficult kit. The exhaust and turbo plumbing on this kit takes allot fitting and planning before painting and the decal scheme is very complex. Just take your time and fit parts and adjust if needed before any painting and gluing. Even Tamiya's kits are not perfect. I know plenty of older modellers who are still scared of doing decals.

Re: Porsche 911 gt1 Le Mans
I agree, very nice job on the decals! I don't really see anything to fault in this build, a lot of the 'good' builds I've seen on this site are really just 'good' photography. Keep building models and show us your work!
