1999 Saturn SL2 just started making clunk type sound
1999 Saturn SL2 just started making clunk type sound.
The noise only happens when the car starts the initial movement foward. After you brake, the noise happens 90% of the time. just a clunk and you don't hear anything until the next time you brake. Any ideas ?? something with calipers or a bearing ? Thanks Sixwongs |

Re: 1999 Saturn SL2 just started making clunk type sound
The first thing I would check is the right side upper motor mount. It's on the passenger side right on top. When these go bad, they can allow the engine to clunk back and forth.

Re: 1999 Saturn SL2 just started making clunk type sound
We found the problem the bolt stripped out of the sway bar. the bolt is completely stripped. I believe the threads on the stabilizer bar are stripped on the inside too.
I am trying to figure out the best way to do this repair. Thanks Sixwongs |
