Re: Honda NSR 500 '99 Mick Doohan

One suggestion, especially if you are considering displaying the bike without the cowling is to cut off the "nub" that the nose fits onto. It looks awful and is not there on the real bike. Just a thought. (I had the same problem on my bikes, so I thought I'd share.)

Great job! Love it! Haven't done an NSR500 yet but just finished my first 500 (Tech 3 Yamaha). Interesting compared to the 800cc bikes, especially the exhausts.

Congrats!

Re: Honda NSR 500 '99 Mick Doohan

Hi eFWoRKs: Love your Honda- just bought the kit last Friday for myself. You obviously have more talent than I - but I'm using your work as inspiration. I'm wondering if you used the Tamiya TS paints... TS-56 Brilliant Orange and TS-53 Dark Metallic Blue, as suggested in the instructions. If so, did you de-cant and spray w airbrush? Can you comment on the color match with the decals?. Your masking and painting techniques are enviable, as are your assembly techniques. If you can take a moment to give some tips to an old modeller, I'll appreciate it. Thanks in advance- and again ...Congratulations on a beautiful job !
Michael

Re: Honda NSR 500 '99 Mick Doohan

There is something mad about how that engine and its exhausts look.
it's as if the engineers sat in their office one day and thought to themselves
"today, I will make our race engine look like something out of Gundam".

Quite simply; I love it.

Very nice work and great painting. 2-stroke bikes were great machines. Time he ran the racer was super and attractive.
