Who is the most famous person you ever knew?
Shameless name dropping time!! Tell us who is the most famous person you know or ever knew? Even if you had a chance encounter with someone famous, tell us about it!.
For example, maybe you went to to elementary school with Mark Zuckerberg? Maybe you are on President Obama's christmas card list? Maybe you crashed into someone's car only to discover the other driver was Jack Nicholson? Maybe you were in a restaurant and were seated next to Governor Schwarzenegger? Maybe your parents invited an "old friend" over to dinner and it turned out to be Mick Jagger? Maybe you had to solve a customer problem at work, and that customer turned out to be Beyonce? So, you get the idea. Tell us what happened. Real examples? One female friend of mine made out with Billy Idol a few years ago. Another friend shared a joint with Eminem back stage at one of his concerts. |

Re: Who is the most famous person you ever knew?
Hmmm...
Well, one of my professors in college used to write for my local paper as a music columnist, which happened to be the time that U2 was getting their start. Anyway, they came through the area and trying to land a place to play and said professor was able to talk with them and get their name out there. He and Bono have been good friends to this day! Now he's a nationally syndicated columnist for Scripps-Howard. That's probably the best example I have.

I once took figure skating lessons with Gordy Roberts' (Pittsburgh Penguin in the early 90s) daughter.

Re: Who is the most famous person you ever knew?
My answer is really going to date me as I was 19 yrs. old at the time ! Back in the mid 60's , I met Jimmy Durante . We were in Hollywood , driving through the Beverly Hills area , and happened to run into him ( not literally ) .He was very cordial and seemed to be a very nice genuine person .Some here are likely to say " Who " ! Not really a well known individual today . But he was a huge star then and for many years before ( 30's , 40's , and 50's )!

![]() I can still skate, but I never did master an axel, let alone doubles or triples. $h!t happens when you're a foot taller than the rest of the figure skaters... you fall a foot farther!

I saw Steven Tyler at a gun show in Tulsa.
I'm distantly related to Will Rogers.

Re: Who is the most famous person you ever knew?
In my grade nine home room also sat
Jill Hennessy who went on to a cool career and is best know for her parts in "law and order" and "crossing jordan" her twin sister was there as well, Jackie. yep, Jackie and Jill. Also the lead singer of a local band called Helix lived nearby, used to see him walking around in leather pants in the middle of summer. His name was Brian Vollmer (or something like that) and that band had some good hits and opened for a ton of great metal bands back in the day. |

Re: Who is the most famous person you ever knew?
Mine probably does not really count but. . . I once ate in the same Max & Erma's while Lebron James was eating there! Amazing, I know! Growing up around Cleveland made me an instant fan while he was with the Cavs. Naturally, I now despise the man and may have just realized I am ashamed to have eaten close to him!
