Rear upper bushing replacement
Just finished replacing the entire front steering, all 4 struts/shocks. When replacing the pass side rear, found the upper knuckle/arm bushing is shot. I've seen poly bushings available so I won't have to buy the entire assy, but do the bushings need to be pressed in/out, or can I do them without a press?
Thanks! |

Re: Rear upper bushing replacement
I just replaced the upper knuckle bushings on my car last week. I bought just those single poly urethane bushings on ebay for around $40 for both. The factory ones are pressed, but you dont need a press to get them out. I took a torch and melted the rubber out of the bushing. There is a metal sleeve between the rubber and the knuckle that you have to remove. I took a sawzall and cut a few slits in the sleeve, and it popped right out. You simply grease up the poly bushings and they slide right in.

Re: Rear upper bushing replacement
Sweet, I was hoping for an easy fix! Hopefully I'll have the bushings by mid-week.
