rear door pin/bushing replacement
Can anyone tell me how to replace the pins and bushings on the rear cargo doors on a suburban? I am very pleased with G.M.s decision to weld the hinges onto the doors and the truck as well.

Re: rear door pin/bushing replacement
Don't know if it was by accidnet or design but an ad for hinge replacement kits was placed right below your post http://www.totalauto.com/page/o_e_h_k_general_overview website has a how to video. Good luck!

Re: rear door pin/bushing replacement
Did you find a solution for this yet? I need to replace mine as well, but have been told it can't be done. If you were able to accomplish this, I would be interested in hearing how you did it.
Thanks. |

Re: rear door pin/bushing replacement
I'm still looking for a solution for the REAR CARGO doors. There are solutions for the SIDE doors but no clear solution for the rear, also known as "ambulance doors". I was told to " knock the pins out". Yeah right. I have had the rear bumper off and still no luck with that idea. I think I will cut the pins with a thin hacksaw blade so I can actually GET the doors off the truck. Then maybe get the door hinge positioned in a vice or press and push the remaining sections of pins out. Doing so without damaging the door itself would be the challenge of course. I love the truck, am a diehard G.M. owner, but they REALLY stuck it up our rears and broke it off on this one.
