Florida State Patrol Charger

Here's an OOB built of Lindberg's new Charger police cruiser, built in Florida State Patrol livery.

Neat kit, a lot of newly-tooled parts to make a proper police car from the previous RT/Daytona/Superbee variants. Fairly straightforward and fun build. Love the mean look of the Charger police cars

Re: Florida State Patrol Charger

Very nice looking FHP car. I'd hate to see one of those behind me.

It's pretty rare to see a real one with a light bar on top around here. They've all pretty much gone to the red and blue lights inside the front and rear glass. Sneaky devils.

Thanks! Getting reference photos on the internet isn't that easy for police cars; there's a lot of shots but not much background reference as to what is current or not. All the photos I found showed a lightbar. I'd also hate to see one of these behind me!

Re: Florida State Patrol Charger

Looks great!

How do you think it compares to the Revell kit, as far as proportions and building into a convincing replica?

Re: Florida State Patrol Charger

Nice job and great look. This Charger is the most young member of the Charger's family.

It's a great kit, packed with detail. Revell's Charger is toylike by comparison, it was designed first as a diecast model then they switched to plastic, with opening scissor doors, no door handles, etc. I did manage to turn one into a stock-looking SRT8, but this kit blows it away. Tons of detail underhood, underneath, inside. I think these police car kits have about 250 or so parts, but you don't use them all as there are many extras.

Looks impresive and a great build!!! Will get one of these for sure.

Where I live we have three types of Police cars..the Charger been the officers favorite.. the fully marked with light bars on top...called UFO's becase the new strobe bars will blind you in the night!!!, the highway patrol slick top units.....and the "phantoms"... these are solid color cruisers....white,silver,dark blue or black with VERY small logos in the doors and all the lights inside as the slick tops....and BIG "Police,Precint number, unit number graphix" in the back bumper/trunk area.....these days in my country you must ask for a permit to take photos of Police and special emergency rigs.

Thanks Zoom. With an endorsement like that, I will definitely have to check that kit out.
Does it come with any of the SR8T parts or decals?

If you want SRT8 parts, go for the Superbee by Lindberg. Same basic kit, but with the SRT8 engine. The only downside to the kit is undersized (18", like all R/T and police) wheels. You'll want some SRT8 wheels from a Revell Magnum SRT8.
