2000 Taurus wagon needs liftgate glass adjustment, HOW?????
Can you help me figure out how to raise the liftgate glass 1/8"? When it closes it drags on the bottom of the frame and tears paint off. So far I cannot find an adjustment procedure in the factory manual or any place else online. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 2000 Taurus wagon needs liftgate glass adjustment, HOW?????
There is probably adjustment capability in the upper hinges for the liftgate. If you loosen them, probably at the roof area, you will likely be able to reposition it.
I'd suggest you use a grease pencil or similar to mark the current position of both hinges, then when you loosen the bolts, you know they need to be tightened down in a higher position than they currently are. -Rod |
