1996 3.1 tcc

Hi i was wondering if theres any way to unplug the TCC on 1996 monty carlo LS also and instructions on how to change it? My car surges and i hooked computer to it and shut the TCC off and the surging stops so i think thats the problem any helps appreciated thanks

Umm....The TCC that you are referring to is the Torque Converter lock up Circuit, correct? If so, then it is inside the transmission and you can not just unplug. If you do so, you will burn up the transmission. In order to check it properly, you will need to do a resistance test on the wires to the TCC solenoid and see if it is gettind the proper ground and power as well. To change it, you will need to support the engine and transmission and drop the subframe, angle the engine and trans down enough so that you can remove the transmission side cover and go from there.
