Need help choosing first car?
I know I change this like every week but anyway right now I am looking at a 2003 Hyundai tiburon GS. Are these good first cars? I wanted an RSX but I can't afford it right now and if i can afford it, it has too many miles. Is the Tiburon a good car?

Re: Need help choosing first car?
Well, I can say that a newer car is *typically* less likely to run into maintenance problems. I always liked the Tib, but I'm not 100% sure whether it had reliability. Perhaps try checking on Edmunds.com or Vehix.com to see if you can get some first-hand consumer input?
All I can say and re-emphasize is that any used car will need work done eventually. As an example, my 97 Civic (which is in mighty fine condition) just had the starter go on it out of the clear blue sky. I'm not saying the same will happen to you, but just be prepared that besides the obvious expenses of oil changes, tires, wiper blades, light bulbs, and insurance you never can tell when a part is going to go out on ya. Good luck regardless!

Re: Need help choosing first car?
As long as the car was taken care of by its owner, you should be in fine shape. And then as long as once you own it, you take care of it, youll be fine. I do not know much about the 03 model, but my mother does have an 08, and she loves it, as do I. Handles very nice, overall very nice car. Good luck
