Any photos of the new Fujimi Porsche 911 GT3R Miku Hatsune x GSR Porsche?

And not the "in-primer" shots from the hobby show last year?

The kits have hit the market, but none of the retailers has photos of anything...boxart nor kit contents. Just the cheesy Fujimi PR shots of the color schemes.

Which makes me wonder how lame the actual kit is, if nobody wants to show photos of the boxart or the model itself? If it's Ferrari 458 lame...that would be so sad

There seems to be a lot of bad comments about Fujimi of late, what are the upto?

They need to up their game or they're going to lose a lot of customers.

My kits are traveling across the Pacific Ocean right now. If you can't wait for my pics, here are some photos a JP modeler has posted.

The limited production run is only for GSR livery, and the others will most likely follow. It might have something to do with the fact that the team switched back to BMW Z4 for 2011.

Judging from those pics it looks very interesting. Now then, what kinds of aftermarket decals can we find for them ? I already have the Flyin Lizzards to try and use.

Yeah I know but other than buying a resin kit I don't have another choice. It'll be close enough for me without being a bean counter for realism .

I frequent quite a few forums and there have been a number of the members that are not very happy with the latest offerings that Fujimi are offering to the general public.

Some of their new kits are full of inaccuracies and not very detailed but that's not to say they all are.

Which kits? Are you saying F1 or others?

While I can't speak for non-F1 Fuj models, the F1 crowd's opinions are varied. Some claimed that the 97T was horrible, not accurate at all, etc. That turned out not to be the case. Maybe the worst was the FW16, as some of the detail was molded in and a few, small inaccuracies that would only be noticed by rivet counters. Neither of these types of "mistakes" would keep me from buying these kits or bypassing them for much more expensive MM offerings of the same kits.

gpz900ra7.
Internet is full of "opinions," but opinions are not facts, so you always have to do your own fact check.
Fujimi is the most inconsistent manufacturer in terms of quality, accuracy and design philosophy, so it's impossible to generalize. My advise is to take everything you read online with a grain of salt. Just name the kit you are interested, and ask about the contents and maybe request for photos so you can make your own judgment (like ZoomZoom just did with this thread).

My kits are going through the Chicago custom service.

Same here... they're on the way.

Thanks for posting up the kit pics. They're tantalizing to see instead of the art provided by the retailers. I've also got the Good Smile Racing Z4 resin kit (older race campaign version), but that will probably be sitting on the shelf for a while.

Now just waiting for the LF-A and hopefully the HS-V in the near future.

Thanks for the photo link, looks interesting...but hoping in the future the headlight covers are not molded in "mandatory" yellow...

Just got both versions in the mail today. The headlight lenses are the "mandatory" yellow. I'm skeptical that they might be cast in clear in the very near future (unless Fujimi replicates a version that isn't a Super GT or similar class).

The decals obviously look like a PITA to apply. In addition, since the decal application instructions are only in Japanese it may make it harder for those who are unable to read to understand the finer application details. The brake rotors also look a bit cheesy to me, too.

Re: Any photos of the new Fujimi Porsche 911 GT3R Miku Hatsune x GSR Porsche?

My kits arrived, too!
The team used 996 in the early 2010 races, and switched to 997 from Round 5 at Sugo, then the color scheme was slightly altered for Suzuka
700km and the rest of the season. Fujimi's Type-A represents the mid-season 997, and the Type-B is the late season version.

In addition, Fujimi almost always screw up the ride height and tread width, so I dry-fitted to see how they were done. As you can see, it's perfect,
something you don't get in Fujimi kits very often. Why can't they do this in every kits?!

Oh, one more thing. The instruction call for Creos Milky Pastel CP04 turquoise green, but it's hard to find outside Japan. To achieve a pretty pastel color, start with white, and add clear green. Then fine-tune with clear blue and clear yellow. Don't use solid colors, or it'd look dull.
