94 Air in brakes ??

I have a 94 olds (same as Lumina APV) and a couple of weeks ago I blew a right front Brake hose, So i replaced the hose and the pedal was still a little low but if you pump it 2 times it's good, on the first pressing of the pedal it goes way down and the van pulls to the right, then after you pump it the pedal gets hard and then it stops like it's supposed to, last week end we bled the brakes, there was air in the right rear and the pedal felt fine, then a couple of days later the pedal is low and you have to pump 2 times again,

the abs light is usually on, but sometimes it goes off,

does this sound like air in the System or something else ???

Re: 94 Air in brakes ??

When the hose blew, did it dran the master cylinder beofre you got to replace the hose? If so, likelyhood very high air in system.
Bleed all wheels in following sequence:
right rear, left rear, right front, left front. If that doesn't inmprove pedal action, you may have air trapped in ABS system. To clear that, turn on key, but do not start engine. Also, do not touch brake pedal throught this operation. After you hear the ABS module stop buzzing, wait 10 seconds, turn off key. Wait another 10 seconds, they turn key back on, not starting engine. Repeat this process 10 times, then re-bleed brakes as above.
You may have to even repeat this whole process again, I had to on my 95 Trans Sport. There are also 2 bleeder screws on the ABS module itself, you might try bleeding them as well, but make sure to don't allow any air to be re-introduced into the sytem.
Good luck
Jeff
