a/C pressure switch
My A/C cut out yesterday on my 96 T/C. I just got around to check it this afternoon. Static pressure was 100 lbs with the ambient temperature of 88 degrees F. The a/c compressor did not kick in, so I jumped the pressure switch and the compressor kicked in, low side at 38 lbs, high at 250. Went up to Autozone and purchased a new switch.
The problem I have now is the replacement switch prongs are not the same as the old switch, bought an other one at Advanced Auto, same thing. I can always switch the wires around in the plug and make it work, but something is telling me there is something else going on, not sure what though. Any advise? |

Re: a/C pressure switch
Send me a picture of the tops of your switches. I have a bunch of them. I'll see if I have the correct one.

Re: a/C pressure switch
Thanks for the offer J Y Doggie. I couldn't wait (living in FL) so to the Ford dealer I went for the right switch. Auozone and Advanced auto part only listed one pressure switch which was the high pressure switch not the low side which I asked for.
