92 voyager trany trouble

I have a 92 voyager that went into limp mode when I was driving it. When I pulled over and stopped the van would not move in forward or reverse but would lock in park. I hauled it home and parked it in yard. I started it to move it and it tried to move in drive but wouldn't .Then as it warmed up it wouldn't do anything. WHAT NOW?

I assume fluid level is where it needs to be. When was the last time tranny filter and fluid was changed. (ATF+4 fluid only)

Is there any grinding when putting into drive?

Have you done the key dance for codes??

How many miles on vehicle?

Check input and output sensers>

Re: 92 voyager trany trouble

The fluid level and appearance looks good . The tranny was rebuilt about 60,000 miles ago. No noise anytime. Where are input and output sensers located? The only code that comes up is 55 which meens no codes.

Before starting engine check the tranny fluid level and note the level, now go start the engine and look at the tranny fluid level. IF the level is the same there is a good possiblility that the tranny oil pump is bad in the tranny.

When was the last time you changed the fluid and filter, was it when it was rebuilt?? Try changing fluid and filter using atf+4 fluid only wal mart should have it. Does the fluid smell burnt?? What coler is fluid?

Here is a link with pic for input anputput sensor location:

Could be solenoid also.

Best is to pull the trans pan and see if there is any metal pieces in the pan.

Did you get the tranny to work since you posted back in December or is this the same problem.??
