Question Trany Trouble codes

I recently had engine trouble codes: P0758 (Shift Solenoid B Circuit Electrical), and P0758 (Shift Timing Solenoid Malfunction) come up my 1996 GMC Jimmy causing the transmission to malfunction. To make a long story short, when I took it to my mechanic it turned out the problem was the transmission fuse. I was replaced and immediately the problem was fixed!

I have been reading past threads stating the the usual problem with this turns out to be the IGNITION SWITCH, but I am wondering exactly what to replace....whether its the WIRING, the CYLYNDER, HARNESS....Can someone give me advice??

Thanks!

Re: Trany Trouble codes

Well, just an update...this seems to happen to my jimmy every few months. The fuse gets blown, and it seems like its skipping gears.

I have been reading past threads stating the the usual problem with this turns out to be the IGNITION SWITCH, but I am wondering exactly what to replace....whether its the WIRING, the CYLYNDER, HARNESS....Can someone give me advice??

Thanks!
