you can do it ! need to see with your fingers..yes this is possible takes some practice..

the use of standard tools/socket set is all that is needed....

if you need a little more room put the tranny in reverse foot on brake and have a person wedge a 2X4 between the engine and fire wall..

dont break the plug wires ! need to pull these off by the boot only ..

Re: 96 Z34 plug change

You will need to remove the upper intake manifold. Before you start, the engine will need to be completely cool or you risk stripping the plug threads out of the cylinder head. Remove the ignition coils and the ICM below them. Then unbolt the ICM bracket from the intake manifold. Pop the black fuel rail cover off, an using an 8mm socket, remove the evap solenoid and charcoal cansiter purge solenoid. Then you will need to remove the 3 10mm studs that connect the throttle body extention from the upper intake. A 10mm deep well socket, universal joint and 3" extention works well. If you cant get them with that, use a wrench and you can get them out. Then with a 1/2" socket, remove the two bolts that hold on the small black brace between the manifold and the EGR valve. Next, with a 10mm deep well, remove the 7 bolts/studs that hold the upper intake on. Then pull out the intake manifold. Now you can get to the rear plugs. Carefully pop plug wires off. With a 5/8" spark plug socket and a long extension, remove the spark plugs. Make sure your new plugs are gaped to .045". The .060 on the emissions sticker is a miss-print. Once the new plugs are in, reinstall everything in reverse order. Good luck!
