Coolant leak near Throttle Body
I have been noticing a the smell of coolant lately so I checked yesterday and when I popped the hood I noticed a bit of smoke as the coolant leaked near the Throttle Body. After some research I am guessing it is near the IACV? Has anyone had this issue and what will I have to do to fix it.

Re: Coolant leak near Throttle Body
I have a 98 mercury villager and am having a similar problems. the "cluster" of 5 lines that branch out from the intake manifold and go to the throttle body, heater, cylinder head, thermostat housing and back to the radiator seen here, http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/quest/1998_Quest/lc.pdf i found a leak in one of the lines but the "cluster" of lines supposidly isnt made any more. if anyone knows of where i can get this line (besides a bone yard) please let me know! THANKS!

Re: Coolant leak near Throttle Body
with further investigation into the leak on my van, the heater tube (OEM ford# F6XZ-18B402-AC) is the correct part that is leaking and has been discontinued and is no longer available through ford or Nissan. whats really unfortunate is that unlike most other automotive parts is that Nissan did not release this patent for after market companys to make so my guess is that this heater tube is going to be nearly impossible to get except from a junk yard. But if i get the part from a junk yard, my guess is that i may run into the same problem Any Ideas? Thanks in advance!

Re: Coolant leak near Throttle Body
Would it be possible to use some jb weld on it? This is the first I have heard of this part failing. I wonder if some bars leak would work.
You are talking about the piece labeled 5F235 on the link posted in #5 correct. |

Re: Coolant leak near Throttle Body
thanks. Well i work at Auto Zone and have thought of a few things i could try. Bars leak wouldnt work because the line is all metal and the hose isnt necessarly small. on the other hand, jb weld may work. i was also thinking about talking a piece of heater hose, cutting it down the side and putting it over the rusted out part and put 3 or 4 hose clamps on it until i can find the part for the van.
