Coolant in oil

Alright, I know that this pretty much means rebuild but any advice would be helpful. While driving there was a sudden loss of power and the the engine died and would not start. There was coolant in the oil, in the cylinders, and the coolant came out the air intake. This is my brother-in-law's truck and his dad just wants to do the intake manifold gasket. They drained the oil that day but now it has sat for three more days. I think too much damage has been done letting it sit so long.

Re: Coolant in oil

My guess it that it is a lot worse than the notorious intake manifold gasket. From my limited experience, coolant loss would be gradual and might increase with time. But, sudden death and lots of coolant in the oil must mean very serious.
