scratch built it with 0.3mm styrene, kotobukiya parts & top studio round hex again


not perfect but better than if i would hand paint it

Some progress on the interior, decided to cut out the centre console as detailing will be much easier & i want it to sit on top of the flocking. But it takes me 1 hour & 15 minutes, i thought can be done in 30min, maybe i wasn't using the right tool



then trace the shape with masking tape, transfer to a 0.3mm plastic card, cut and paste on top


cut away the plastic excess with knife then sand away with files


in total it took me 3 hours plus for the whole process


also drill the speaker holes and add PE, notice the speaker is level with the surface instead just glue on top of it, just adapt Ramon's WIP


both seat prime to check for any flaws, still require minor touch up


and prime interior to check for any flaws, there is few, so still need touch up, not yet added is the speaker & air-cond vent PE

Cut off the air-cond vent cover, initially thought to just separate it...


but the cover flies over my room, can't find it


no choice but to find replacement, the Wave parts look similar, 4mm but slightly taller, so i just need to sand it down


the cover should be on top of the pe


luckily it fit


i think it's better to paint it first before i glue the PE, so i spray silver, masked then spray matte black mix with a bit of grey


glue it using CA glue


and this is how it looks


store in container, if not sure gone...

Ive been using a container like that also, makes life a lot easier. The interior looks really good. Vents are topnotch!

Updates:

First i trace out the speaker's grill shape on the dashboard, drill out holes and bevel the shape so that the grill flush with the dashboard.



Using stretch sprue, i apply CA glue from behind



dashboard prime


Scratch built window button from tamiya round rod, paint it silver


Cut out some left over black decal, faster than spray black mask then spray silver

last night i tested the 1/48 scale motorsport carbon fibre on mr color steel base

honestly not very visible if look more than 40cm away

only visible on close up


then i gloss coat & compound it, not supposed to do this, as the decal not 100% dried & the clear coat haven't cured completedly, it's just for testing


the scale looks ok to me, just now i'm headache how to apply the CF nicely, glosscoat, masked and spray the rest semi-gloss without any problems


look quite close compare to my reference

I would go deliberately spraying the whole dashboard with Mr. color steel base, making templates for the vents protuberances and the remaining area to be carbonized. Then decaling (the color underneath should forgive small imperfection), clearcoat and polishing. If dash panel lines are deep enough, neat masking of the carbonized area should not be so difficult… then final shot of semi-gloss or matt black.

But you’re for sure skilled to obtain a clean result, even without my suggestion
