Which website gets revell/germany kits first?

Im really eager to get the revell new dtm cars that are coming out next month or october. I was wondering what good websites will have them as soon as they get released? As my local hobby stores will get them in two to 4 months after the release date? Websites that get revells sooner than others?

LOL! Exactly the question I have been contemplating for quite some time! Actually, ever since I heard they were going to release the DTM and F1 cars.

I'd probably guess an online shop in Europe. Shipping though is going to be a B***H.

Besides the fact that Hobby Search to me is notorious for continually pushing back their release/shipment dates (which now I think is just a conspiracy to get me to pay shipping fees x2... grrr ), they're also listing it it with an October release. Some other Euro sites I've seen are scheduled for one in August.

i really wouldn't recommend buying from a japan based webstore seeing as they'd first have to get the kits into their country before shipping it back out to you.
quite simply, it'd cost you more and it probably won't be the quickest.

Exactly.

Revell kits are stupid expensive sourced from Asia, in much the same manner that Japanese kits are stupid expensive in the US if bought from a shop that receives the kits through US based distributors.

I would never buy a Revell kit from Asia. It would be like someone in Tokyo buying a Tamiya kit in the US and shipping it to Tokyo, effectively tripling the price over what they could get it for at home.

It's not the retailer's fault that they don't know the exact arrival date of foreign kits. If the ship gets attacked by those pirates in the Gulf of Aden, it'd take longer.

And Hobby Search's shipping policy on pre-order kits is pretty common across JP retailers, that is to group new items month by month. That means you have to take the risk of added time and cost.

For example, if you pre-order two items scheduled to be released on the first and last of the month, the first item won't be shipped until the end of that month. And if the second item is delayed, you'll be paying double on shipping.

On the other hand, to someone like me who doesn't care about a few months of delay, and also pre-ordering something every month (which I should stop!), the policy works perfectly.

As you are in the US, I would suggest Tower hobbies or Hobby Linc. Both tend to get the product quick. If you're on Tower hobbies mailing list, they regularly have deals where you get $10 off with a purchase of $50. Basically free shipping. Hobby linc tends to have better prices but no free shipping. I usually estimate run an order through both to see who is cheaper before placing it.

Revell is definitely stepping up. I'd like to see those detailed up with carbon and PE. I'm surprised, but delighted that they decided to do a basic engine as well.

Thanks for the pics, although the detail ain't that great and wheels look sad. There is still alot of improvement any modeler can give it. And i really think many companies will release aftermarket details/decals for these kits. I love the audis!! Can't wait. This is what im doing until they come out. --------------->

Looking at these preview pics gets me all wet!!! just aswell I stocked up on engine pics.& interior pics. for these cars but looking closely at them the person who built them couldn't have been a 'mastermodeler' for Revell! some pics you can see the paint cracking and decal application shody at best on Timo's( the black one) car!
