Hasegawa Lamborghini Muira SV

Overall, an enjoyable, if sometimes fraught build, due mainly to repainting after polishing the paint too thin on all those edges on the rear bodywork....

For those not familiar with this kit, all the badges (as well as several interior details - the only BMF used was for the window frames) are metal transfers, and the front & flank ones also have decals to go on top. A very nice touch, and looks very smart.

Brief WIP thread here

Very nicely done indeed! The orange looks nice on one of the best shape cars ever in my opinion!

Re: Hasegawa Lamborghini Muira SV

I had this kit in my hands today at my lhs. They wanted $40 for it. Yours looks good. Do you think its worth it? Full engine detail?

Re: Hasegawa Lamborghini Muira SV

I just read your WIP. Sorry for the stupid question about the engine. It looks like it just may be worth that $40. Good job!

Unless you're going to have the rear bodywork opening, don't worry about it not having full engine detail, as even the engine detail that there is is barely, if at all, visible through the rear slats. However if you are opening it up, then imho it wouldn't take much work to turn it into a full engine, as most of it is already there (the sides of the engine, of which the lower parts are visible from underneath, are full height).

As for is it worth it, the detail is fantastic, and the metal transfers & decals for the badges are great, whilst all the parts fitted together well too. Highly recommended if you like Muiras!

Re: Hasegawa Lamborghini Muira SV

One of the best looking cars ever. I was just dismayed when I heard the it handles badly due to the tank in the front. When that goes empty it is understeering badly with it's heavy engine in the back.

Lucky I didn't buy one ;-)
