The coolant elbows are located at the upper right and lower left corners of the radiator, I guess the one you already saw is the one from the upper right. The other elbow is accross the diagonal line of the radiator, near the serpentine belt and next to the air conditioning compressor.

Hope this helps you, good luck...

Re: Hi, IN REFERENCE TO OTHER POST

I'm talking about the heater bypass elbows.... Is that the ones you mean also? If it is one elbow goes to the tensioner and in the back of the tensioner it has a nipple that goes into the water pump is this the second elbow? Sorry If I'm not getting what your saying... THANKS! What I really could use is a diagram, if there is one of the water passages in the car???

Re: Hi, IN REFERENCE TO OTHER POST

Oh my ! I'm terribly sorry for my mistake, that's what happens whenever you have no idea what people is talking about. Now i know which ones you are talking about, if you want to bypass the heater core you just have to connect a hose between both nipples on the tensioner belt. Here is a link to an image showing the belt tensioner, just connect a hose between both terminals:

Re: Hi, IN REFERENCE TO OTHER POST

Are you attempting to bypass your heater core, or just replacing the leak-prone plastic elbows? If you are referring to the plastic elbow(s) that come(s) out of the lower intake manifold to the belt tensioner, your car only has one. The 99-later 3800's have two, one upper and one lower. The lower fitting on 96-98's is a cast in part of the tensioner assembly, so the lower plastic elbow is not required on these years. Motormite/Help sells them as a pair (part #47065), so you'll only use the upper on your vehicle. If you're talking about the heater hose fittings at the top of the tensioner, then you do have 2, but they are not available aftermarket that I know of.

Re: Hi, IN REFERENCE TO OTHER POST

Re: Hi, IN REFERENCE TO OTHER POST

Actually there technically are two elbows on the 97, its just only one is plastic and replacable. The other one is metal and one with the tensioner assembly. It does have an o-ring that should be replaced if you take the tensioner assembly off.
