Thanks! That pic is most probably from the Mine race! The "6 1" on the right side is different from the other races: in Mine race the numbers were thinner and there were more space between them. Just see the 2 season round up clips through, in the part 2 this can be seen on 4:22.

But we are missing some weight penalty stickers on the quarter window then?

That's possible. I have never seen an image from '96 that would have had all the four that those studio pictures for the book show, max only three on the #60. And if you see closely the video as the #61 crosses the finish line at Mine there's possibly none of them left on the car, at least I can't see any of them.

Not sure which race that pic was from, but like Erik says its missing some weight penalty stickers, so it could be worked out from that detail.

You guys want some 4200x2580 resolution pics of 01R from the book?

Re: My 1000th post----- The whereabouts of GTR 04R?

I'm sure someone here does. I received them last September, but the one who shared them with me asked that I not to post them for all the world. If yours are 'no strings attached' then I say go for it.

Did anyone find #04R yet?

Interesting - actually this was what was on #14R at the Sugo race, and for sure it didn't score enough points after this moment in history to garner another weight penalty for the final round.

Hmmm... Yes, the angle is making it quite hard to say anything for 100% sure. I think I've seen a red weight penalty sticker somewhere and that could have been for 50kg. Yellow was only for 10kg. This page shows that #61 had 50kg penalty at Mine race, as #60 had 30kg. If you use latest Chrome you can use the built in translator to help read the page.

From the other pages of the site the weight penalties of the LARKs were:

R1 (Suzuka): #60 0kg, #61 0kg
R2 (Fuji): #60 30kg, #61 20kg
R3 (Sendai): #60 20kg, #61 50kg
R4 (Fuji): #60 10kg, #61 40kg
R5 (Sugo): #60 10kg, #61 70kg
R6 (Mine): #60 30kg, #61 50kg

I found them on a Chinese web site that one of my brothers work collegues linked me too. I,ll try and find the link again.

04R whats that?

OK this thread has gone slightly away from its intended subject. But confirming the chassis no,s of at least two GTR,s will put this puzzle to bed, so to speak.

Let me check first where they came from, as I may not be able to share them in the public domain. The largest size I have from McLaren is 1920x1440 that are free for editorial use.

Of course those details may raise more questions than they answer, given the "Year of Manufacture" listed there.

I suggested to him that perhaps that is related to the year it was converted for road use. I am not sure how strict the DVLA are about such matters when it concerns that sort of thing.

I put the same format of search in for M1 GTR = 13R, that also came up with McLaren F1 GTR as the vehicle make, but this time the "year of manufacture" was 1996!!

Love the colour:- Pink/Grey Mind you, I would not say no to that, if it was a GTR in my road car collection.

Yes Erik, the DVLA are very strict on such matters, so there maybe more to this "2001 year of manufacture" than first appears.

Re: My 1000th post----- The whereabouts of GTR 04R?

Hello and thank you very much Thomas

I would like to thank you very much Le Man when he talked about #15R because I keep it in my mind and put it with another story and I was convinced his story was true ! My friends not

FMHC (Thomas) called me on saturday 20th, march when he saw a GTR !!! Fortunately, I could come and see the car this day whith his cover partially putted. Before I arrived, he could take chassis plate picture !

On monday, I return and was able to see the car entire without the cover but not allowed to take pictures. What a moment !

We had to wait before revealing the truth to avoid curiosity or problems because the special storage place.

Unfortunately, I asked a friend who works there to call me when the car moved to shoot it outside but it was impossible for some reasons.

I have two another stories on F1 in France I will speak on the forum but later.

Philippe

Martin I like to share information and passion especially with our prefered car.

I don't understand your last sentence, uu mean the car will go out ? Why because it was kept secret since 14 years ?

Phil
