Well on the record, I discovered it went to Brunei.

This I am now certain of, after having the evidence in my hands but not realizing it since June of last year. Something Chris said this morning caused me to go back and stare at it some more. Unfortunately the source is not something I can share at this point, so for now you'll just have to take my word for it.

This news squares up three things - first, that a red F1 was spotted in Brunei (even though there wasn't one on the Garage #5 list). Second, it brings the Brunei total up to 10 cars as has been reported in the past. Third, in the "McLaren F1 - The Car's The Star" video I have hosted on YouTube, Quentin Willson states towards the end when listing F1 owners that "...the Sultan of Brunei has five." Counting only their road cars, this becomes a true statement, with #002, #004, #005, #008 & #014.

There was no picture that accompanied the story of a red F1 in Brunei. It was just something that was mentioned on another forum long ago - perhaps it was Supercars.net?

Anyway, for a while it seemed the red F1 located in Singapore could have been that red F1 - as the dealership it's at has done business with Brunei in the past. However, now with this new confirmation of #004 going there, that specualation can be put to rest as well.

The only mention of the red one was on Fchat some time ago. I also e-mailed with someone about it, but think that was after the Fchat post.

Trying to figure out now how I can confirm it. The list is a great help, but since there are many more locations it's not definitive. I've had an F1 source, but don't know where I've got his details anymore...

I think it was shot in the summer of 1998, maybe released in 1999. Can't be too sure. Anyone else know?

When I have a minute, I'll explain in more detail how I came to know about #004 via PM to the Brunei expert.
